What will happen with the electrical grid over the next 10 years? We’ve used big data and algorithms to run the largest-ever statewide energy storage grid simulations for government clients.
New York State Energy Storage Roadmap
Acelerex contributed analytics for the New York State Energy Storage Roadmap commissioned by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). The Acelerex study performed massive grid and economic modeling over a 10-year horizon to assess the net benefits of adding energy storage to the New York grid, including:
- Benefits of reduced line loss and congestion cost
- Capital cost savings from deferring investment in generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity
- Benefits of peaker generation replacement
Massachusetts State of Charge Report
An Acelerex experts contributed to the big data grid analytics of the State of Charge study by the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER).
The study found that adding energy storage to the state’s energy portfolio could “realize hundreds of millions of dollars in cost savings for Massachusetts ratepayers,” “shave the impacts of peak demand on the state’s energy infrastructure,” and “reduce carbon emissions by better integrating renewable resources into Massachusetts’ energy infrastructure.”
