If electric vehicles are the future, Birmingham’s Southern Research is collaborating on a project for what comes after the future.
The research organization is working with the China-based National Institute of Clean and Low-Carbon Energy (NICE) on a project to develop stationary power systems using retired battery packs from electric vehicles, or EVs.
Acelerex, a Boston software development firm, is a partner in the project.
